By  Dr. Jon Thomas D.C PSc.D, Board Certified Chiropractic Physician.

Happy Holidays: Celebrate the Healthy Way
Many people think it’s difficult to get through the holiday season without putting on a few pounds. People who have gained weight every year around the holidays may even feel that it is impossible. However, unwanted weight gain can be avoided. In fact, NutriMost at Vibrant Life Health Center can help you to lose weight during the holiday season. Can you imagine a better feeling than waking up on New Year’s Day several pounds lighter than what you weighed after Thanksgiving? It is possible and it would be a great way to start the year, wouldn’t it?

NutriMost has a menu for the holidays.

Tips for Eating During the Holidays
The following tips were paraphrased from an article in WebMD on the Top Holiday Diet Tips of All Time.
Take it easy on the food accessories. While nuts, cheese, cream sauces, gravy, butter, and whipped cream can enhance flavor, they can also expand the waistline.
Get snobby about what you eat. Holiday gatherings involve lots of food. There’s no need to try a little bit of everything. Just because a buffet has lots of good food doesn’t mean you have to eat all of it. Pick a few of your favorites and eat them, slowly. Get the good stuff and enjoy every bite!
Don’t skip meals. Eat normally on the day of a get together. "People who skip meals to save up calories tend to overeat everything in sight once they get there. Eating sensibly throughout the day will take the edge off the appetite and empower a bit of restraint," says Katherine Tallmadge, MA, RD, author of Diet Simple.
Check out the scenery. When you arrive at a party, get some water, maybe with a twist of lemon, and wait a half hour before commencing to eat. This will give you an opportunity to get comfortable and check out what food choices are available. Take a minute and make wise choices.
Don’t  focus on the food. Although everyone likes to eat, the real reason people get together is to see one another. Enjoy the company of the people you’re with.
Alternate alcohol with nonalcoholic beverages. Alcoholic drinks, like eggnog, contain lots of calories. By alternating between adult beverages and water or seltzer, you can cut the caloric intake significantly.
Pass on the appetizers. When there’s plenty of food, there’s no need to graze before the actual meal. Skip the chips and the dips.

What is NutriMost Resonant Frequency Technology?
NutriMost Resonant Frequency (NRF) Technology is a scientific breakthrough which allows the body to communicate its needs clearly. With a technique called galvanic skin response, the system sends messages to the body and measures the body’s physiochemical response. By comparing the results to an established baseline, a detailed analysis can be produced which will show biological preferences, biomarkers that are out of range, and areas in which the body may be weak or imbalanced.
The body produces over 400 million messages per second. NRF technology measures and assesses those communications. NRF then takes a hormonal fingerprint to determine the exact blueprint a person needs to bring his or her body to an optimal state of health in which it burns fat like never before. NRF technology is so specific that it can reveal hormone imbalances, organ function weakness, and more.
NRF Technology will determine exactly what your body is missing and empower you to lose twenty to forty pounds or more in just 40 days. Through NRF technology, Dr. Thomas can find out what is going on with patients and create the proper nutritional balance for them. The program helps people lose weight and become healthier.
