At Vibrant Life Health Center we understand and that each person is uniquely different and requires specific services that focus on your health care needs individually. We are excited to share with you our official Blog to provide you with information on health tips, information, and steps you can take to transform your health and add years to life and life to years!
In the past, my blog has concerned itself with telling you how to correct health issues or improve a condition. Whether you wanted to lose weight, eliminate pain, correct a structural or nutritional imbalance, and/or become more active, I have shown you the steps needed to accomplish that goal. This week, I want to cover the other side of chiropractic care, which is concerned with helping patients sustain their health day in and day out. This philosophy is at the heart of my practice.
At Vibrant Life Health Center, this tenet is so important that it’s stated right on our homepage:
We at Vibrant Life Health Center are here to help you obtain optimum performance so that you feel healthy and have a positive outlook on life. However, this is only going to happen if you are able to SHIFT your mindset and lifestyle in these five areas: Skeletal Structure, Headspace, Intake of Nutrients, Functional Fitness, and Toxic Burden.

Happy New
Year! If you made a New Year’s resolution to lose weight and to become more
fit, you are not alone. Making a resolution is the easy part. The big question
in January is whether you will stick with it. Waking up on New Year’s Day and
realizing that there’s a price to pay for whatever unfortunate excesses may
have happened the night before, or throughout the holiday season, is the hard
part.
Fortunately,
help is available. Joining a fitness club or signing up for a weight loss
program are relatively easy. Lots of people do it in January and it works for
some of them. However, to achieve your goals, it’s important to find the right
fit.

The First Thanksgiving took place
in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in November of 1621. The Pilgrims and the Wampanoag
Indians gathered for a feast to celebrate the autumn harvest. While the meal
may have featured turkey, there was probably some other fowl as well, including ducks, geese, and swans. Yum, yum.
There may also have been seafood including lobster, clams, and oysters.
Some of the locally grown and
organic vegetables for the meal were probably onions, beans, lettuce, spinach,
cabbage, and carrots. Fruits for the meal may have been blueberries,
plums, grapes, raspberries, and cranberries. It really
sounds like a fairly healthy meal.
Thanksgiving is one of our
country’s great traditions. It’s also one of the biggest holidays of the year
for most Americans. Getting together with family and friends for a big
delicious meal is something most people enjoy. However, many people enjoy the
food so much that they tend to overdo it.
Portion Control - Eat, drink, and
be merry, within reason

Some people like to get a serving
of every food presented. Sweet potatoes, mashed
potatoes, potatoes au gratin, green beans, baked beans, peas, carrots, a
biscuit, a piece of cornbread, a piece of garlic bread, a little dark meat, a
little white meat, stuffing, apple pie, pumpkin pie, cherry pie, Boston cream
pie, etc. With the wide variety of foods available at many Thanksgiving
dinners, all those servings can add up to double or triple the calories of a
normal meal.
Here’s a tip: You don’t have to try
everything. Also, eating and eating and eating till you can barely move isn’t
all that enjoyable. Just because it’s Thanksgiving doesn’t mean you should
forget your health objectives, especially if one of those is to control your
weight. So, at some point, you just have to put down the fork down and step
away from the table.
Trigger Foods
Courtesy of Wikimedia Commons
One of the things NutriMost patients
learn about is trigger foods. Trigger foods are the foods that cause people to
pack on the pounds quickly. They’re not all the same for everybody either. For
one person, peanut butter may be a problem. For someone else, pizza might be a
problem. With some trigger foods, once you get started it’s hard to stop. For
example, Oreo cookies can be a problem for some people, especially if there’s
some milk to go with them. In order to
avoid your trigger foods, you must first become aware of what they are.
One way to develop an awareness
about trigger foods and how they affect you is to keep a close eye on the
scale. If your weight is up two pounds one morning, whatever you had for dinner, the night before might be a problem. If
you know what your trigger foods are before Thanksgiving, you’ll know what to
avoid. It could be the bread, or the
potatoes, or the apple pie. For most people, green beans are probably OK. In
any case, if you want to wake up raring to go for a full day of extreme
shopping on Black Friday, you might consider avoiding your trigger foods.

With
other popular weight loss programs, including Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, and
Weight Watchers, people might lose up to one or two whole pounds per week. The
emphasis here is on the word “might” because there’s no guarantee.
On
those other programs, the kind of results most people are looking for typically
take twenty to thirty weeks - half a year depending on how you look at it. It’s
not unusual for NutriMost patients to lose as much as twenty to forty pounds in
forty days.
Can't
Lose Weight? It's Probably Not Your Fault
Many
people try to lose weight at the beginning of every year and many end up discouraged
and disappointed. Additives and chemicals in the foods most Americans eat can
disrupt hormones and neurotransmitters. This makes their bodies resistant to
weight loss and even exercise.
The
NutriMost Ultimate Fat Loss program relies on proven technology that reads and
details the factors that control fat storage and metabolism. For lasting and permanent weight loss, the
body’s chemistry must be corrected and brought into balance.
Hormones
play a much bigger role in health than most people realize. Surprisingly,
relatively healthy individuals who have a good diet including recommended
supplements may still suffer from hormonal imbalances. The resulting symptoms
can include weight gain, fatigue, and moodiness.
The
proper balance of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, and other
hormones is one of the keys to maintaining good health. With NutriMost, you’ll
transform your body inside and out. The NutriMost system helps restore Hormone
balance and metabolic response so your body learns to consume its stored fat.
By correcting deficiencies, NutriMost transforms the body into a fat-burning
machine.

The
NutriMost Difference
Instead
of losing one or two pounds per week, NutriMost patients typically lose half a
pound to two pounds of fat per day.
Instead
of working on losing the weight for half a year to see results, NutriMost
patients see substantial results in six short weeks – one and a half months.
NutriMost
patients don’t experience the hunger and cravings associated with other
programs.
While
people in other weight loss programs typically go through mood swings,
NutriMost patients typically have improved energy.
Dr. Jon Thomas, Director of
Vibrant Life Health Center
NutriMost
is Scientifically Sound and Doctor Supervised
The NutriMost
Ultimate Fat Loss System is doctor supervised and completely different from any
diet program you may have tried in the past. Most weight loss programs focus
exclusively on a diet. With NutriMost, the focus is on each patient’s unique
chemistry and hormone balance. NutriMost stops fat storage and programs the
body to consume the energy stored in fat cells. Many patients lose 20 pounds or
more in just 40 days on NutriMost.
NRF:
The Most Powerful Technology for a Better Life
The
key to the program is NutriMost Resonant Frequency (NRF) technology. It takes a
hormonal fingerprint of all the factors that pertain to weight gain and fat
retention. The data provided by NRF technology enable practitioners to optimize
hormone levels for each patient, and to activate the neurotransmitters for fat
loss.
In
essence, a recipe will be developed to precisely address any deficiencies the
patient may have. For example, the recipe for a patient may be 1270 parts
Adrenaline, 830 parts Thymomodulin, 50 parts vitamin B6, etc. With NutriMost, the
practitioner develops a recipe to correct hormone levels, a recipe for detoxing
the body from any toxic substances, and a recipe for burning fat.
Losing
weight is great and it’s the initial objective for most NutriMost patients.
However, there are several other important benefits to correcting imbalances in
the body. After completing a cycle in NutriMost, many patients find that it
takes less time to heal from injuries and illnesses. Many also see significant
improvements in these areas:
Diabetes
High
cholesterol
High
blood pressure
Liver
problems
Thyroid
disorders
Sleep
apnea
Fibromyalgia

By Dr. Jon Thomas D.C PSc.D, Board Certified Chiropractic Physician. At the beginning of every year, many
people resolve to lose their excess weight and get in shape. Generally, they
want to look better, feel better, and reduce their health risks. More people
become new members of gyms and fitness centers in January than any other month.
Ultimately, many of these efforts fail at providing long term solutions as the
return on the effort is not as instantly gratifying as desired or the actual
cause of an individuals issues were never really addressed. To see real success
from your effort, it is important to understand that weight loss and wellness
involve many variables and a plan needs to be put together to address them all.
Here is some important steps and points to consider.
Weight Loss Programs
Losing weight can be especially
challenging because temptations are everywhere. When considering a weight loss
program, a few simple questions will help people determine which program is
right for them.
Does the program require the purchase
of prepackaged meals? If so, the costs of the food may be in
addition to other costs of the program. Also, if a participant simply hates the
food, it may become difficult for him or her to stick with the program.
Does the program require attendance
at meetings or appointments with counselors? When starting out on a new endeavor,
it may look like it will be easy to fit meetings into the schedule. However,
things that happen in life take time. It’s a good idea to be realistic
about the time commitment involved with any program. Make sure meetings and
appointments can be scheduled at times that are convenient. The flexibility of any
program can be an important factor in helping participants succeed.
When a question or challenge arises,
can the participant get answers or advice? Questions are going to come up. Also,
participants in any program are going to need advice from time to time. There’s
no way around that. Having fast access to a counselor can make the difference
between a person staying on the course or slipping up in some way.
Does the program include a doctor who
has been trained in nutrition and in the physiology of weight loss? One of the most
important considerations when evaluating any weight loss program is the
training and experience of the practitioner. Since losing weight has so much to
do with your health, it’s very important that the program is medically sound and
is overseen by a qualified doctor who has had the appropriate training and who
is experienced in the field of nutrition and weight loss.
When Joining a Gym
Becoming a member of a gym or fitness
center can be of tremendous help in achieving one’s health and fitness goals.
Being around other people who are also working to become healthier and more fit
makes much more sense than being a couch potato or going to a buffet.
Exercising in an atmosphere where others are exercising and having fun at it
certainly can make the experience more enjoyable. Being around like-minded
people can also be very motivating.
When considering a gym or fitness
center, be sure that it’s open at hours when you can get there. If you’re not
able to get to the place when it’s open, membership is not going to do you much
good. Also, be sure the center has the equipment or classes you want. If
there’s a waiting list to get into a class you want, that class isn’t going to
do you much good. Finally, make sure that the goal you have aligns with the
outcomes one can get from this form of activity. Exercising and lifting weights
can assist in loosingweight but it shouldn’t be the only part of the plan.
See Your Chiropractor!
This is one step that many miss
involving both weight loss and wellness. Your body is going through changes and
it is critical to make sure that the control center of your body, the central
nervous system, is optimized. Only your chiropractor can identify specific
areas that your nervous system is challenged and remove those interferences.
Remember that everything that happens in your body comes from a brain center
command and when that information isn’t flowing freely to the desired location
your body does not have the information to perform its duties. Over time this disorganized
information and dysfunctioning system can lead to problems down the road.
Nutrition is Critical
Eating the right foods is a critical
step as well, there has been so much advancement in nutrition over the past few
years and the old method of “They say it's good” just isn’t leading to success.
It is important to use the proper tools to test and measure specifically why
and what you should develop as a nutritional plan. What is good for them might
not be for you. Remember each of us Gain and Loose weight differently and each
of us need different approaches to address our specific needs in nutrition.
Many Chiropractors, and Medical Doctors offer specialized services that can
assist you in knowing your own specific needs.
Dr. Jon C. Thomas will be speaking on
Saturday, January 9th, 2016, at the New Year, New You Expo, which
is being held at the Adam W. Herbert University Center, 1200 University of
North Florida Alumni Drive on the campus of U.N.F. Dr. Thomas is scheduled to
speak at 10:30 a.m. The event will give participants the opportunity to learn
about the NutriMost program at the Vibrant Life Health Center and to ask any
questions they may have. Admission is free, but registration is required. Get tickets.
Is the program getting results for
other people?
There’s no point in signing up for any program that is
not producing results for people who are already using it. If a program works
for a lot of people, there should be evidence of that. The more people a
program helps, the more likely the program will work for you, especially if the
programs works for people who are just like you. Ask to see testimonials, especially video
testimonials.
Pete lost 35 pounds in 29 days with
NutriMost at the Vibrant Life Health Center
“To me, another significant outcome
was that in this short period of time, I have stopped taking all the
medicines for diabetes. The six pills and two shots per day are gone!
When I travel I no longer need to take those medicines with me. More
importantly, I’m saving hundreds of dollars per month. NutriMost works.”
Kathy lost 25 pounds in 40 days
“You have to be very aware of what
you’re putting in your mouth, but it works. If I could do it, anyone can do
it.”
Dr. Thomas lost 26 pounds in 40 days
“I’ve actually lost weight on
NutriMost myself. My metabolic age was lowered by twenty-four years. My body
fat went down to ten percent. My body is operating at a far better level than
it ever has before. If you’re struggling in any way, shape, or form with weight
loss or fat, or if you are fatigued or simply unhappy with the way you feel,
you can experience an amazing change in your body in just forty days with
NutriMost.”
